the return...

I thought I would use my return to blogging to point out one of life's strange quirks: Your enjoyment of a drink has a lot to do with the container it is in. Think about it...

Imagine sipping on a nice cup of coffee from your favorite coffee mug. Now imagine pouring that coffee into a 32 oz. plastic souvenir cup that you brought home from a baseball game and sipping your coffee from that cup while you read the morning paper. Or worse, fill up several cups for yourself and dinner guests after a meal together. It's the same drink, but it wouldn't feel right.

Here's another: You can drink a pop straight from the can or bottle, or you can pour it into a cup with ice. But, you can't pour it into a cup without ice and still drink it without feeling weird.

Consider some more: orange juice in a wine glass...milk in a sports bottle...beer in a traveler's insulated coffee mug...

I just thought that was weird and I wanted to share. Perhaps some more serious posts will be forthcoming.

G.K. Chesterton...

"The Bible tells us to love our neighbors, and also to love our enemies; probably because they are generally the same people."
